Project Caraga Joins NCIP Multi-Stakeholder Consultation on Draft FPIC Rules
Project Caraga representatives Bonnie Sanchez and Manjobel Ladao participated in the Multi-Stakeholder Consultation on the Draft Rules and Procedures for the Free and Prior Informed Consent (FPIC) Process, hosted by the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) in Quezon City, last November 6–7, 2025. The two-day session gathered government agencies, civil society groups, Indigenous Peoples (IP) leaders, and sector representatives to review and refine key provisions of the proposed FPIC guidelines.

The consultation aimed to strengthen policy frameworks that protect the rights of Indigenous Cultural Communities and Indigenous Peoples. For Project Caraga, the event offered an important opportunity to engage with national stakeholders and better understand emerging directions in FPIC policy reform.

We recognize the relevance of these ongoing consultations in shaping a more responsive FPIC system—one that supports development while ensuring that the voices, rights, and aspirations of partner communities remain at the center.
