Project Caraga, Sunfood Marketing Inc. Discuss Potential Partnership
Project Caraga held an exploratory meeting with Sunfood Marketing Inc. (SMI) on December 10, 2025, in Ko’on, Rosario, Agusan del Sur, opening discussions on how both groups can work together to better serve partner Indigenous communities in Caraga Region.
The meeting brought together Project Caraga and SMI’s leadership — ecoCarbon Group CMO Sophia Ong, Caraga Carbon Development Inc. (CCDI) CMO Rowil Aguillon, CCO Owen Jaen, CEO and President Dom Subang, COO Jennifer Subang, and Business Development Manager Ronnel Dela Cruz. The meeting centered on operational considerations such as ground elevation and production models that could align with our community-based projects.
Furthermore, talks also considered potential areas for collaboration outside the primary focus, including the abaca industry, a livelihood common among partner indigenous communities living in ancestral domain areas in Agusan del Norte, Surigao del Norte, and Surigao del Sur. Grounded in a shared commitment to people, agriculture, and the Philippine farming landscape, they expressed interest in positioning Mindanao as a key contributor to inclusive and sustainable agricultural development.
