Higa-Binhi Wins at YFC 2025, Highlights CADT 252 Youth’s Cacao and Coffee Nursery Vision

Congratulations to Jeme-An Bustillo and Joshua Mandahinog of CADT 252 for their remarkable win in this year’s Young Farmers Challenge (YFC) held on December 4 at the Grand Palace Hotel, Butuan City.
At the YFC 2025 Awarding Ceremony on December 15 at the Balanghai Hotel, Butuan City, winners were recognized and they received their cheques for their proposed projects. Among them, the coffee and cacao nursery initiative of our IP youth, Higa-Binhi, earned ₱80,000 in funding from the Department of Agriculture, support that will help them bring their vision to life.

With this win, Jeme-An and Joshua will now have the chance to advance to the regional level once their project is successfully implemented, where they can compete for an additional of ₱150,000 to strengthen and scale their project. During their pitch, they shared how Project Caraga has opened doors of opportunities for them to dream bigger and pursue agribusiness ventures in their own ancestral land.
Here we believe that when we uplift our youth, we empower our communities, bringing us a step closer to transforming lives. They remind us that the future of Caraga is in good hands, in the hands of young leaders who choose to plant hope.

Here’s to Higa-Binhi, and to every young farmer daring to build a better tomorrow in the agricultural scene.
