Brewing Futures: IP Farmers Join and Step Into New Opportunities at the 2025 Caraga Coffee Festival

Our partner IP farmers from across Caraga joined the opening of the 2025 Caraga Coffee Festival yesterday at the Event Center of SM City Butuan, a celebration of Caraga’s finest Robusta, that will continue until December 5. For many of them, this gathering is more than an event, but a doorway to new opportunities. Here, they meet potential buyers, connect with local coffee shop owners from Butuan, and learn alongside fellow farmers supported by Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and Department of Agriculture (DA).

As they walk through booths filled with the rich aroma of roasted beans, our farmers also see a reflection of what’s possible—what care, patience, and tending the land with intention can grow. The stories behind the coffees showcased yesterday remind them that when they nurture their plants, they nurture a future that can flourish.
During the program, our Chief Markets Officer, Rowil Aguillon, introduced Project Caraga to the public, our mission, our efforts on the ground, and the ways we hope to walk with our farmers toward stronger livelihoods.

We thank the Caraga Coffee Council and DTI for giving us the opportunity to join the 2025 Caraga Coffee Festival. We are hopeful that next year, we will return with our very own IP farmers competing to be part of Caraga’s coffee story—sharing their journeys as successful producers and contributing their own chapter to this thriving community.
Through festivals like this, we draw nearer to our shared vision: to stand with indigenous communities.
