Project Caraga and DENR Caraga Hold Levelling-Off Session on Forest Protection, Sustainable Land Use, and Biodiversity Response
Project Caraga and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Caraga convened in Ambago, Butuan City last November 14, 2025, for a Levelling-Off Session aimed at strengthening coordination on forest protection, sustainable land use, and biodiversity response. The meeting brought together key leaders and technical teams from both sides to align priorities, share expertise, and build a common understanding of ongoing conservation efforts across the region.

The session opened with a comprehensive project overview delivered by Deputy CEO Anselmo Cabrera, followed by Chief Markets Officer Rowil Aguillon who presented the Agricultural Development Roadmap. Technical teams from Geospatial Intelligence, Forestry, and Biodiversity also shared updates on current field activities and monitoring strategies. Our COO Bonnie Sanchez addressed questions and clarifications from PENRO and CENRO representatives, ensuring that both agencies were aligned on operational processes and goals.

A central component of the activity was a collaborative workshop focused on drafting a reporting and response protocol for each CADT, enhancing coordination between CCDI and DENR field offices. CENRO Nasipit DMO III Gabriel Arlan presented the consolidated output, highlighting actionable steps for improving incident reporting and environmental response mechanisms.

Project Caraga expressed optimism about the strengthened partnership, reaffirming its commitment to working closely with DENR Caraga to advance sustainable resource management and environmental conservation across the region.
