Forest Protection Mini Summit: A United Stand for Surigao del Sur’s forests
Project Caraga, represented by CMO Rowil Aguillon and COO Bonnie Sanchez, joined the Forest Protection Mini Summit organized by the Diocese of Tandag on October 17, 2025.

During the summit, our team presented detailed insights on the current state of Surigao del Sur’s forests using GIS data, highlighting the pressing threats they face, including illegal logging and land conversion. The discussion emphasized the urgent need for stronger forest governance and collaborative approaches to safeguard these vital ecosystems.

The summit served as a platform to bring together government agencies, environmental advocates, civil society, and local communities to strengthen forest protection initiatives and promote long-term sustainability.
Project Caraga is proud to stand alongside these stakeholders, reinforcing our commitment to environmental stewardship and supporting community-led efforts that ensure the health and resilience of Surigao del Sur’s forests.
